Paul and Cheryl Boria, owners of LaMountain Construction, began demolition and site preparation for a new 12,900 square foot CVS Pharmacy in Charlton, Massachusetts. The parcel, located on SEC of Route 20 and North Main St formerly housed a gas station, apartment building and garages owned by the Boria’s. The Family Company will oversee all site development of this project as well as future development on the 12-acre parcel. Michael C. Jacobs of Glickman Real Estate identified the Route 20/North Main Street intersection as a target location for retail development after evaluating the residential growth and lack of convenience services. As CVS Pharmacy’s preferred broker, Jacobs approached the Boria’s well over a year ago to begin facilitating the transaction. The pharmacy is expected to open its doors in early 2007. Jacobs is also working with other national retailers in the effort to continue development for the community/region. Recently, Jacobs became the exclusive retail broker for City Square, a 2.1 million square foot revitalization project in downtown Worcester by Berkeley Investments, Inc.
